Sophia felt Dante tense up when she touched him, and felt that he did not kiss her back right away, and she was nervous that she had pushed things too far. But when he finally kissed her back and touched her face, she smiled into the kiss.
When he pulled back, she did as well, looking up at him with a smile on her face. She nodded slightly at his first comment, it was indeed true.. she had to admit it to herself as well, that she did like him. She smiled at the small peck, and sighed at his next question. She was unsure what to say to that one.
"I don't know, Dante..." This could cause all sorts of problems, so she wasn't sure how to handle it at all.

Dante thought for a moment and offered her another small smile."Well... we could always keep it a secret," he said, moving a strand of hair out of her face. He didn't know if that was such a good idea, though. He knew someone was going to find out sooner or later. He hoped it was later, though.
"We also have that tiny chance that your father or brother might accept it. I would have to prove myself somehow if they don't, though," he added. His brown eyes looked into her green ones. They were soft and gentle, yet also protective.
He suddenly heard a whinny. Turning his hair, he noticed a few guards on horses walking towards them. He took a step back and straightened up. His face became emotionless and his eyes clouded so no emotions showed. He waited until they were close enough to talk. His face darkened a bit and nodded. The guards turned their horses around and galloped away.
"They have more information about the pirate attacks in the kingdom. They're getting closer to the city," he said, turning towards Sophia. He relaxed once the guards were out of sight. "Lets head back to the castle. I'm sure you would want to hear about this just as much as I do," he stated, offering to help her onto Quinn.
((I decided to make it a bit more interesting.))

Sophia smiled and leaned into Dante's hand as he brushed the hair from her face, but she shook her head at the suggestion he gave. "That's not a good idea, Dante... I don't want my father or brother angry at you."
She nodded slightly at his next thought, it was true, they could possibly accept him.. if he proved himself. Well, they could accept him without that as well, but she wasn't so sure about that. She figured her father wouldn't mind, and maybe her brother would listen to her. After all, she would be Queen one day. Well, they would have to see.
Sophia turned her gaze to the guards the approached, frowning slightly. She didn't like how Dante changed like that. She wondered just what was up..
When Dante spoke, she sighed softly, her fists clenching after a moment. She released them again, trying to regain her composure. She knew that she would need to keep her composure if everyone else was to be calm. She nodded as Dante spoke, staying silent as she mulled over what the information could be. She mounted Quinn with Dante's help, looking over at him as they began heading back to the castle.

Once Sophia was on Quinn, he untied Battle-scar. He got onto his horse. He headed out and gave her a small smile. "Its nothing too serious. Just attacks on a few farms," he added, trying to assure her. Truthfully, he was a bit nervous. He hoped it wasn't his families farm. That would be horrible.
Battle-scar's ears lied flat on his head, clearly sensing Dante's nervousness. He snorted, tail swishing to one side. Dante patted Battle-scar. "Calm down. Just keep calm," he whispered to the horse. He was halfway telling himself, as well.
He looked up at Sophia again. "They also heard more about Shadowstalker. He killed one of your brother's closest servants. He found a way into the castle without us knowing," he added, digging his heels into battle-scar until he was moving at a quick trot.

Sophia sighed slightly as he said that it was nothing too serious. It was all serious to her, most definitely. She was glad that it was only a few farms though, but she was nervous about it being something important to Dante. She knew he was from the country.
She looked over at him as he spoke to Battle-scar, wondering if that was directed at himself as well. She knew that he had to be worrying about what was going on.
Her eyes widened as he spoke of Shadowstalker as well, her heartbeat speeding up. He had gotten into the castle and killed a servant? Why would he do such a thing? Probably to scare them... she shuddered slightly and closed her eyes, trying to calm herself down. That was absolutely terrifying. She opened her eyes and looked ahead again, but once again stayed completely silent. She knew if she spoke right now, her voice would waver and Dante would know just how frightened she was.

Dante remained silent for a few minutes, waiting for a response. When one failed to come, he sighed. "You're scared. That's why you're quiet, right?" he asked, looking at her. He didn't bother to hide his emotions around her. He was terrified too. Not for his own safety, but everyone elses.
He was a guard, he needed to do her job and protect the people and the nobles. He wanted to protect Sophia the most, though. He didn't want to leave her side until Shadowstalker was caught. He forced a small smile. "I'll keep you safe. I promise. No Pirate or even Shadowstalker will get to you. Not unless I'm dead," he added, hoping to make her relax even a little.
He straightened up, squaring his shoulders. He made his face expressionless again as they began to pass numerous people.

When Dante spoke to her finally, she nodded her head gently and looked over at him. "Yes, Dante. I'm terrified. My family... I'm worried for them. And myself. The idea of the assassin in the castle makes me feel so scared." She blinked quickly as she felt tears appearing in her eyes, trying to blink them away. She was so terrified. She wanted to stay strong.. but this entire thing was too much at times.
She heard him speak again and looked back at him, forcing a slight smile onto her face. "Thank you, Dante." She knew he was a good fighter, but she wondered if he could take on Shadowstalker if he were to come for her.
She noticed when he became a guard again, and she looked ahead once more, trying to remain calm. She wanted to show the people that there was nothing to fear.

Dante looked around, his senses alert. He was quick and strong, but he knew assassins were sneaky and stealthy. He took a deep breath and tried to concentrate on the little sounds. Nothing so far. Suddenly, his eyes caught sight of something or someone in the shadows of a building.
Turning his head, he saw a guy looking at them. He put his hand on the hilt of his sword as he saw the guy give them a small smirk. The guy finally looked away to watch a few kids and a dog run around. Dante sighed and looked ahead.
After a few minutes they ended up back at the castle. The gates quickly opened and were quickly closed once the princess and him were inside. Dante quickly knew a change. There were many more guards than before. All of them had stern faces, but the younger ones, mainly around the age of 15 and 16 were terrified. He could tell by their tense muscles and how they jumped at every bang or clash of sword as some guards practiced.
Dante's hand tightened around the reins. He slid off of Battle-scar and handed the reins to a groom. He helped Sophia off of her horse and headed to where the guard captains were. He knew thats where the information would be.

Sophia sighed as they continued to ride quickly to the palace, hoping that everyone was all right there.. she was nervous for her family and wanted to make sure that they were all safe. Sophia failed to notice the man that was looking at them, her mind too preoccupied with her family at the castle.
When they arrived, she glanced around at all the guards standing watch, amazed that they were all there for her and her family. Of course, it was their duty.. but still. She dismounted Quinn and handed the reins off to a groom as well, hurrying behind Dante as they hurried into the palace.
They passed a few guards inside who were talking about the attack, but she didn't want to stop and listen to them. She preferred to hear it from the captains, because it was much more reliable than gossip in the halls.

Dante finally made it to the captains room. He didn't knock or anything, he just walked right on in. There were at least six men around a table, all with stern expressions on their faces. Dante stopped a few feet into the room. "The princess is here to hear about the attacks and Shadowstalker, sir," he stated, standing straight and looking at the captains.
He could feel the eyes of the many guards out in the hall staring at him. He ignored them, though. He needed more information about this. He wanted to know anything he could about Shadowstalker. He watched as the captains bowed to the princess, and gave a curt nod to Dante. He relaxed a bit.
He glanced at the princess, wondering what she was going to do. He's never been at any of these.... meetings.... before. He was only here because he was Sophia's guard. He closed the door as soon as the lieutenant told him to.
((Shall we rp the NPCs?))

Sophia entered the room behind Dante, her eyes going to each man at the table, studying them for a moment before she took her place at the table. She stood though, rather than sat, because she was so nervous. She wanted to prove to them that she could do this as well as her father could, but she was afraid that was wrong.. that she couldn't. She didnt want to fail her people. She watched as the men bowed to her, glancing at Dante as she heard the door shut, before looking back at the table. There was a map on the table, with locations marked in X's where the pirates had attacked. She picked up a note and began to read it to herself, it detailed the attack on Cale's servant. She sighed as she set the paper down and looked at the men, waiting for one of them to speak to her. The first man spoke up, detailing their plan for increased security for the king, prince, and both princesses. They would have guards dressed as servants attending all four of them, with female guards attending the princesses so they would be watched at all times. This would hopefully cut any chance that the assassin could get near any of them. "Ok, but about the pirate attacks?" She waited now, as the men looked at each other, lost for what to say. ((Yeah, I took the guard part, but you can add whatever you want.. This was your plot hehe))

Dante listened closely. He stood by the door, deciding that would be the best place to guard anybody. Considering this room had no windows, the door was the only way into the room. He had a small feeling that the assassin was still in the castle, but he couldn't be sure.
He wanted to look at the map and read the note, but it wasn't his job. He wasn't a high enough rank yet. His eyes did keep glancing at Sophia, though. Ever since what happened in the gardens, he couldn't keep his eyes off of her unless he forced himself.
~~~
One captain stood up and pointed to one of the X's on the map. It was close to the city, but still in the country. He glanced at Dante and then looked back at Sophia. "Shadowstalker has also attacked here, ma'am. We didn't think it was important until we found out that it was a guards family. We haven't told him yet. We don't know how. Maybe, you should do it," he said, giving a slight nod towards Dante, indicating it was his family.
Sophia listened to the captain as they spoke about a few more things, before the one pointed at the map. She leaned over and looked at the spot, noticing that the man looked at Dante and then back at her. Her eyes widened slightly, as she hoped he was not saying what she thought he was.
When he finished speaking, Sophia blinked. She was scared now, very scared.. and upset for Dante. She nodded slightly and looked over at Dante, pushing away from the table and walking over to him.
"Dante... your family.." She paused, looking at his eyes. "Shadowstalker attacked them.." She didn't know what else to say.. the captain really hadnt said what the damage was, or.. if anyone was left alive.
(sorry it's tiny.. :/)
Dante watched and noticed that a captain glanced at him. He didn't think it was important, but then he noticed Sophia look at him. He blinked and watched as she walked over. She only said six words to him. He tensed and his breath caught in his throat. His hands were balled into fists, but he kept his expression, expressionless.
Tears formed in his eyes, but he quickly blinked them away. He didn't know what to do. He was shaking a bit and his fist were clenched so tightly, that his knuckles were white. 'I'll kill him.... He better hope he never crosses my path. Ever.' he thought. He let out a breath, as he realized he was holding it.
He didn't know what to do. He watched as the captains started to talk again. A minute later tears were pouring out of his eyes. That was the only thing that betray his feelings. He kept guard and his face remained expressionless.
He tried to think of an excuse to get Princess Sophia away from the captains. He needed to get out of there and he couldn't unless she accompanied him. He was her guard after all.
Sophia noticed that the words had a deep impact, as she knew they would. She reached out to touch his arm, trying to keep him calm.. even though she knew it was probably futile. She saw his hands ball into fists, and wondered just what he was thinking.
She noticed the tears falling, and she just wasn't sure what to do. She really couldn't leave the meeting, but she wanted to take care of Dante as well. She knew he was hurting, as evidenced by the tears on his face. She glanced back at the captains, who were all looking at her, waiting for her to return to the table.
She watched them for a moment before she spoke up. "I have to talk to Dante alone, but I'll be right back. Keep discussing strategy, and we'll figure something out." She didn't care if the captains thought this was strange, she had to make sure he was OK.
She grabbed Dante's arm gently and tugged him into the hallway, leading him into an empty room. "Dante.. do you want to talk?" She wasnt sure he would open up to her, but she figured she would try all she could.
