Methon
Methon is an island nation, made up of only a single large island. The land is ruled by a monarchy, with the first born child becoming the heir.
The men and women are held to the same standards as each other, with women being able to do many of the same things men can. Oftentimes you will see a female guard, especially at the moment when the heir to the throne is a female. The guards around her are often female, dressed as handmaidens to throw off any potential harm to the princess.
Technology:
YES: Flintlock guns, plumbing, steamboats
NO: Cars, TV, phones
[ie, if this was set in the real world, we'd be talking technology of the 1700s or so]
Surrounding Lands
Alhadan - The largest of the three islands near Methon, they are the primary trade partner with Methon as well. Alhadan specializes in weaponry.
Epihal - The second largest island near Methon, and a valuable trade partner as well. Epihal specializes in sheep and wool.
Ohoran - The smallest island, but still a valuable trade partner. Ohoran specializes in fruit, and much of the fruit sold in markets on Methon is grown on Ohoran.
Zanan Island
Zanan Island is home to the pirates that plague Methon. The people of Zanan used to live on Methon hundreds of years ago, before they were driven out by the people of Methon.
