Character Name: Isaac Thorburn
Age: 28
Occupation: Captain (Navy)
Gender: Male
Personality: Isaac is what you could consider a “proper” gentleman. Being born in a relatively wealthy family, Isaac was educated in the finer arts and ways of the world. He shows courtesy and respect for everyone, even his enemies. He is polite, kind, and rarely holds a grudge or bursts out in temper.
Isaac is a self motivated man, a dreamer of the world. He one day’s hopes to see the pirates driven out of the waters, and for peace to be brought to the land. He also has a self drive to prove himself in this struggle, and become the best naval captain of the Methon navy and maybe even the world. Although these hopes can keep his moral up, at times it makes him rash and foolish with decisions. Isaac also shows amounts of arrogance and pride, and will on occasion boast or attempt to prove his superiority, whether in battle or in conversation.
When among more personal friends Isaac holds an amount of carefree attitude. Although he never loses his posture or courtesy, he will as quickly attend a ball at a nobles mansion, and the next day go to the local tavern with fellow officers and indulge in spirits and cheer. He also likes to converse with his crew, and get to know them on a more personal level, instead of treating them as merely cannon fodder.
Isaac is extremely loyal to Methon, a nationalist of great amount. He loves his nation, and hates the pirates who threaten and harm it. Although this amount of trust can cloud Isaac’s judgment when orders are given, he still can see the clear distinction between black and white.
When on the ship out at sea Isaac is in his elements. He has a passion for the ocean and its ways, and feels more at home at sea than on land. While on his ship he keeps relatively the same attitude. However, if pressed into combat, especially against pirates, Isaac changes. He becomes more stern, concentrated, and aware of things around him. He sets himself the goal of taking down his adversary, and nothing short of death will stop him. However he does not endanger the crew, (most of the time), and will not take unneeded risks, (again, most of the time).
☠Likes: The Sea, Music, Good Food, Fencing/Sword Fighting, Horse riding, Swimming, Art, Methon, His Crew and Fellow Officers, Nature
☠Dislikes: Pirates, Cheaters/Liars/Brigands, Pollution, Needless Conflict, Chaos/Disorder

History: Isaac was born to Henry and Mary Thorburn, nobles in the land of Methon. Being wealthy, Isaac was educated in the finer ways of life at an early age, including music, art, dance, and proper etiquette. However Isaac was not sheltered, and was also taught other things such as how to swim, horseback riding, and sailing. Isaac was tutored by his mother and father, and was given a good education, in fact better than most of the “common folk”.
At the age of 16 Isaac was sent off to train in the Navy. He was taught sword fighting, marksmen ship, tactics, and other ways of the sea. During this time Isaac became acquainted with many of the other students being taught. Showing a remarkable empathy at the sea and excellent control of a ship, Isaac was given the status of officer in training at the age of 20, now becoming an “apprentice” to another captain of a ship, a man by the name of Merric.
Isaac’s naval career began soon after when Merric’s ship was sent to guard a trade route being preyed upon by the pirates. This would be the first time Isaac learned about the pirates and their raids, and would hold a hate against them ever since. After two years at sea, and around 25 victories, Merric and Isaac returned back towards Methon. Having proven himself an effect commander and soldier, Isaac was promoted to Lieutenant and given command of a small warship. Following a one month leave on land, Isaac was sent out to sea, this time as part of a convoy of merchant and warships travelling from Methon to its three trading partners.
The journey went relatively well, but on the way back they were ambushed by pirates. After a long fight the Methon navy proved victories, although casualties were high on both sides. In the battle Isaac was credited with sinking the flag ship of the enemy, no small feat given his relatively weaker ship. After hearing of this victory and upon his return Isaac was promoted to Captain and given command of a ship of his choice. Isaac choose a Brig, preferring its speed and maneuverability, and named it the Sea Sprite. Biding his mentor and friend farewell Isaac now left Methon on his own, armed with only his wits and his crew.
For the next seven years in his life Isaac went out to sea on and off. His ship and crew proved wonderfully, accumulating around 33 victories, many of the ships pirates, and many of them larger than the Sea Sprite. His ship has earned the nickname the Pirate Hunter and has earned moderate reputation around the sea. Isaac himself has become known among naval officers, and given his good record, is also respected.
After taking a one year leave on land to visit family and friends,
Isaac is once again looking out towards sea. Will he continue his scour of the ocean, or will he finally meet his match?

Appearance: Isaac likes to keep his hair short and his body well groomed. In fact Isaac hates not looking his best, even at sea. Isaac almost always wears his naval uniform, unless the occasion proves it distasteful. Upon his hip he wears his saber and holstered on his thigh is his flintlock pistol. He also carries a dagger concealed inside his boot, added protection against possible attacks, (a side effect of his battles at sea).
